How To Fix FIFA 19 DirectX Error Easily

Here are 3 fixes that have helped other users resolve the DirectX error on FIFA 19 issue. You may not have to try them all; just work your way down the list until you find the one that works for you.
- Update your graphics driver
- Update DirectX
- Check if your PC meets the system requirements for FIFA 19
Fix 1: Update your graphics driver
Perhaps one of the most common causes of a DirectX error on FIFA is an outdated or corrupt graphics driver. So you should update your graphics driver to see if it fixes your problem. If you don’t have the time, patience or skills to update the driver manually, you can do it automatically with Driver Easy.
Driver Easy will automatically recognize your system and find the correct drivers for it. You don’t need to know exactly what system your computer is running, you don’t need to be troubled by the wrong driver you would be downloading, and you don’t need to worry about making a mistake when installing. Driver Easy handles it all.
You can update your drivers automatically with either the FREE or the Pro version of Driver Easy. But with the Pro version it takes just 2 steps (and you get full support and a 30-day money back guarantee):
1) Download and install Driver Easy.
2) Run Driver Easy and click the Scan Now button. Driver Easy will then scan your computer and detect any problem drivers.

3) Click Update All to automatically download and install the correct version of ALL the drivers that are missing or out of date on your system (this requires the Pro version – you’ll be prompted to upgrade when you click Update All).

4) Restart your computer for the changes to take effect.
5) Play FIFA and check to see if the DirectX error is resolved. If yes, then great! If it still occurs, please move on to Fix 2, below.
Fix 2: Update DirectX
DirectX is a suite of components in Windows that allows heavy multimedia apps such as games to interact with your video and audio cards. If you’re running an old version of DirectX, it’s possible that it won’t be able to handle the graphics rendering and processing task, which might cause the DirectX error. So you should update DirectX to the latest version to see if it fixes the issue.
If you’re not sure which version of DirectX your computer is running, or how to update DirectX, please refer to this quick guide.
Once you’ve updated DirectX, check to see if the FIFA game DirectX error issue is fixed. If yes, then great! If it’s still no joy, please move on to Fix 3, below.

Solution 2: Run FIFA as an Administrator
Running the game with administrator privileges can help you to resolve the FIFA 19 crashing at the loading screen issue. Here’s how to do so:
- Locate your game’s icon on your desktop and right-click on it.
- Select “Properties” and then open the “Compatibility” tab.
- Check the “Run this program as an administrator” option, and then click Apply > OK.
Relaunch FIFA 19 and check if it crashes at the start or if the DirectX errors pop up.
Solution 3: Set All In-Game Settings to Low

How to Fix the DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_HUNG Issue in FIFA 19
Solution 1: Check if the CPU Is Overclocked
Overclocking your CPU overworks the machine and is likely to crash your game and other applications and cause the DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_HUNG error. To resolve the issue, try restoring your CPU’s clock speed to its factory defaults. Once you’re done, reboot your system and relaunch the game to check if it now runs without issues.
Is your computer running slow or suffering system glitches? If so, it may need maintenance. Try running a dedicated PC optimization tool to check the health of your PC and apply the necessary fixes.
If this fix fails, try the next solution below.
Solution 2: Update Your Device’s Graphics Card Driver
If your graphics card driver is missing, outdated or incompatible with your system, it can trigger the DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_HUNG issue in FIFA 19. The only solution is to install the latest graphics card driver version.
Updating your drivers can be done manually or automatically.
Option 1: Manually Update Your Graphics Card Driver
First, you need to identify the type of graphics card driver that your PC uses. Next, check the driver version and model listed on your PC and then head on to your graphics card driver manufacturer’s website, where you’ll download the latest versions. As you can see, this method can be quite complicated and requires some level of skill.
Option 2: Automatically Update Your Graphics Card Driver
If you’re not tech-savvy or simply lack the time to go through all the hassle of manually updating your drivers, why not install Auslogics Driver Updater and let it do all the hard work for you? This is a dedicated tool that automatically updates all the device drivers installed on your PC without requiring much input from you.
Since problems can spring out of nowhere when new updates are installed, Auslogics Driver Updater backs up your old drivers, making it easy for you to restore them in case the need arises. Plus, you can schedule the drivers to be updated at certain intervals to ensure that your PC’s performance is smooth.
Solution 3: Switch Back to DirectX 11
If installing the latest video card drivers doesn’t fix the issue, try switching back from DirectX 12 to DirectX 11. To do so, follow these steps:
- Launch FIFA 19 and open “Settings”.
- Find “DirectX” and check if it is set as “Auto” or “12.0”. If it is, set it to “11.0”.
- Save the changes and restart the game.
If the DirectX errors were caused by DirectX 12, switching back to DirectX 11 should resolve the issues.
Solution 4: Update Windows
Windows updates are released periodically, and with each update, there are improvements and patches to certain bugs. Among other things, Windows updates install the latest DirectX version, especially on Windows 8 and Windows 10 PCs.
Therefore, be sure to always keep your Windows up to date to avoid certain DirectX errors, such as the DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_HUNG error and the FIFA 19 DirectX error (DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_REMOVED).
To check for updates:
- Simply go to “Start”, and open Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update.
- Click the “Check for updates” button and let Windows search for the latest updates and automatically install them on your PC.
