Ive also fixed a broken sdfat driver that caused random reboots, and over all did a clean up of the kernel, removed old commits, updated some drivers, and more importantly, ive removed «ALL» custom GPU modifications, as they cause graphical issues in most games, and overheating, this means there no longer is an option to overclock/undervolt GPU. for now atleast.

finally, ive added a binary to help with N910H devices, which now allows them the option to go to settings > mobile networks > and pick 3G (full guide in F.A.Q) to fix SIM issues

Change-log wise this is a «small» update, but it hopefully addresses various stability problems, i have not done much work in audio tho, nothing ready for release, but i will be looking into that moving further.

A: This is due to it trying to force LTE, Go to settings > network > mobile networks And change preferred network type to 3G, then enable and disable Airplane Mode. Here is a Video by @mvrul2k20 to explain the procedure

Q : High Quality in instagram stories etc ?
A : You need to flash FakeDeviceInfo v2 magisk module (which means you need magisk) . when instagram detects our device, it sends low quality video, the patch tricks it into thinking our device is Galaxy tab which plays back max quality

Q : How to enable android 10 gestures
A : First you need to enable navigation bar (this will disable touchkeys) then go to gesture settings and enable full screen gestures

if it indeed does not boot, i would need someone on N916 to grab last_kmsg and `/data/tombstones` to debug further why it fails

it has the WiFi and GPS fixes mentioned before / in the github issue page

i dont really see any n916 specific changes that would break booting, but i also been too occupied to follow up with the note 4, so apologies for that, i have saved some notes from members who sent me logs and information but i coul;d not see any weird behaviour in N916 Builds

give the ones listed above a try and let me know if it boots or not.

I could not make working of any proxy client app (SocksDroid, Proxifier, Tun2Socks etc.). Expecting your feedback here!

I will look into it asap, i cant say i have ever tried to fix work profile on AOSP, but perhaps it follows similar principals as other samsung ROMs i worked on, i will debug it over the week and let you know if i find anything relevant or a fix. i am not familiar with proxy clients either but i will take a look.

I am here again to you with great hope! Of course I believe that you will find a better solution during the debug over it. Even these features (creating of second space and use of proxy client) worked good in my old stock Rom Android 6 with some limitation (N916KKTU2DPK2_N916KKTC2DPK2_N916KKTU1DPK2_HOME)! So, I was looking for the latest Android Custom Rom for better performance with more features and finally stopped here! Above 2 features are very common and perform very well in the latest Android version, 9-12 so on (on different Samsung Models and other phone devices as per my using experience).

No, it’s a nightmare.)
Installed and checked, took it down.
The native file manager, MiXplorer and similar programs are so stupid that it is impossible to use the program.
It’s as if there is no caching in the firmware.
For example, you open MiXplorer and a folder with a lot of apk files. Then the apk icons are not visible, only a couple of them.)
Searching for files takes so long that you could drink a cup of coffee during this period.
So this is Android 11 and I don’t understand what kind of stupid implementation it is.
So, I found a lot of things that were not pleasant, but I don’t remember right now.
I returned to my old, good, reliable and everyday eRobot v1.2
I’ve been using it for over 5 years now and I’m happy with it.
Well, of course, it may be old due to the version of Android, it slows down a little over time, but it works perfectly, “confidently”.

Samsung’s screensaver and nothing else happens. rolled back to the old firmware for now. Works. what could it be?

Understood. Well, Refined Nougat N7FE Port 6.0 is a good firmware and especially 7.1.1, but there were very serious jambs. The most important thing is that a notification like com.phone.samsung often appears and this is almost not resolved at that time. Plus the sound played strangely and there was an echo when communicating, when making a call. Right now I’m using eRobot v1.2 and it works many times faster.

This is pretty offtopic but I’ll post it anyway..
So, after 8 years of hard working, my Note 4 (SM-N916S) completely died yesterday.
I could enter TWRP but it was extremely sluggish, and booting android resulted in 0.5fps boot animation or a infinite reboot with weird graphic effects appearing on screen. Probably a cold solder joint. I tried to disassemble the phone but broke it even more and even dropped it in the process, now the display assembly is completely toast..
As the motherboard, the display, and the frame is all in a bad shape now I’m probably going to put my good ol’ Note 4 in the drawer instead of repairing it. At least for now.
I just want to thank @ananjaser1211 for making this device usable for all these years. From RefinedNougat to LineageOS 18.1, the roms really made the phone worth using.
Hope the rest of the Note 4s stay strong.

That sucks to hear, thank you for being interested in my projects for many years now, while i wasn’t able to deliver to the level of some other phones i maintain the note 4 remains my favorite platform dev and community wise due to people like yourself.

. First time to flash it in my Note 4 with extended battery. I’m using 18.1, I have a problem with banking apps. I used magisk, install modules from Shamiko and Safetynet. But it still doesn’t work. Also Gboard doesn’t show up so I installed other keyboard. Anyway, still a great ROM. I have a question, can we use kernelsu on our phone? is our phone arm64-v8a or arm-v8a? I’m really not sure. Again, thank you so much. First time to post here also

all roms on exynos note 4 are 32bit which should be armeabi-v7a. And for the safetynet google is currently doing some changes that break stuff. There was a new module that fixed it but it also got broken a few days ago. As for kernelsu it won’t work as it requires either arm64-v8a or x86_64.

Just tried the latest test build
the good: no more system-wide lockups, seems rock stable
the bad:
1) system settings page still crashes when accessed from the quick menu (botched install, maybe?)
2) unable to sign into LGU network.
— the same USIM worked fine on the SM-N910K with this rom
— LGU network is visible when I tap automatic carrier discovery, but hangs forever when I select LGU from the list of discovered carriers
— manual APN editting is disabled (disconnected from the carrier)

Alright, it took a lot of work and effort, but finally our device is running Android Pie in a state that is considered «usable» by myself and the testers. There is still a lot of room for improvement but for now the current C/H build is good enough. S/L/K and U builds will follow later after the C/H one is tested, and while i get myself a server.

This project is only possible due to the awesome people who helped me get my foot into AOSP development, which is very different from what I’m used to. In no particular order, our thanks to @Lunarixus , @ripee , @Stricted (especially for commits that fixed RIL) @tripLr , @bonuzzz and many others from various communities who helped indirectly by sharing their device trees on GitHub.

I will continue to work on Lineage 16.0 and hopefully Lineage 17.0 in the future. I am enjoying AOSP more than TW at the moment.
