Проблема с обновлением BIOS
Возможно файл скачался в архиве. Его надо разархивировать. Возможно файт повредился при закачке. Соответственно, надо перекачать. Возможно повреждённый файл лежит на сайте, тогда ничего не поделать, пока на сайте не исправят. Вообще смысл обновлять БИОС есть только при веских основаниях, например при покупке нового проца, который поддерживается с определённой версии БИОС. Просто так обновлять чисто, что бы было, не стоит.

На современных материнских платах процедура обновления BIOS уже давно стала рядовой ситуацией. Самая частая причина для чего это делается – установка процессора, который поддерживается только более новыми версиями BIOS.
На материнских платах от Gigabyte для обновления BIOS присутствует встроенная утилита Q-Flash. С ее помощью можно всего за несколько кликов мышкой установить последнее обновление BIOS без запуска операционной системы.
Но не всегда эта процедура проходит гладко. Например, частой ошибкой, возникающей в процессе, является “Invalid BIOS Image”. О ней мы и поговорим в этой статье.
Что делать?
Первым делом стоит убедиться, что вы пытаетесь установить BIOS именно для вашей платы. Не поленитесь сверить маркировку своей платы с маркировкой на сайте производителя. Влиять может даже ревизия платы!
Одна и та же плата, но с разными ревизиями
Если с моделью и ревизией все хорошо, то причина скорее всего в том, что между установленной версией BIOS и той, которую вы пытаетесь поставить, выходило несколько промежуточных версий. И чтобы установить последнюю, нужно последовательно устанавливать предыдущие в порядке возрастания.
Последовательная установка обновлений BIOS
Например, на плате стоит версия F2, а вы ставите F60, но между ними были версии F10, F20, F30 и F50. В этом случае чтобы обойти ошибку Invalid BIOS Image, нужно сначала установить F10, потом F20 и так далее, пока не дойдете до требуемой F60.

Только при попытке обновиться с F50 до F60 вы не поймаете ошибку Invalid BIOS Image.

Gigabyte BIOS Image OUTDATED — Easy workaround from Win-Raid
So I recently got this X79-UD7 motherboard which I mainly wanted for Sandy Bridge-E CPUs like 3930K. I received the board with an Ivy Bridge-E Xeon CPU and both of the BIOS chips were using the latest retail BIOS for Ivy-E. I generally had better results with Sandy Bridge-E BIOSes with 3930K so I wanted to downgrade the BIOS to an older BIOS like 11.e or F10. Sadly due to some file protection features, the BIOS update utility inside the BIOS and the standard Efiflash.exe both refuse to downgrade the BIOS and they state the desired BIOS file is outdated. At the time it was common that the file types changed when we went from Sandy Bridge-E to Ivy Bridge-E and it wasn’t so simple to flash the BIOS back and forth. So there are two ways to bypass this if this happens. The easier method is to use a modified Efiflash.exe which is available at win-raid.com that bypasses these security features. The second option is to use CH341a external BIOS flashing tool or similar device to flash the BIOS externally, but that is obviously harder and can require soldering. What you need to do for this easier method is to prepare an empty FAT32 USB drive with Rufus or similar tool and create a bootable DOS drive and place the desired BIOS file and the modded efiflash.exe at the root of the usb stick. Boot the stick from the BIOS and you need to load the BIOS file with efiflash once you enter the DOS environment. You need to type efiflash «bios name», like efiflash X79.11e in my case. Once it flashes the BIOS you should be able to get into the BIOS after it reboots. Thread: Gigabyte BIOS update issue
It has been a while since I posted here but I was curious if anyone has experienced this issue with a Gigabyte motherboard. I have a B460M DS3H with BIOS version F5, I updated it from F3, there are not 2 new updates, F6e and F6. I am unable to update to either of them, I receive the message �Invalid BIOS image� in the Q-Flash utility. I have downloaded the file multiple times on different computers, etc and still have the same issue. I am thinking about resetting the BIOS settings. I contacted Gigabyte and they said I can send it back under warranty but I don�t want to be without this system as it is my file server. If anyone knows of a solution please let me know.

go to gigabyte-forum and get a replament MOBO. Always good to have multiples at hand. and be aware. after certain time psu, videocard must be replaced. psu better before crashing pc.
and cleaning all contacts from time to time. if sata-drive also those under board!! no need to explain why. have almost 30 years of experience. and doing that saved me often.

If the motherboard works, I would advise leaving it. You risk bricking it if you fail. If everything is working, don’t «fix it», unless there is a feature you require or you must upgrade the CPU.

I have the Gigabyte B460M motherboard and used a newer Efiflash version to allow updating from F5 (did you mean F6b?).
The Efiflash version included in the F5 bios for this motherboard would not work with later bios versions.
Neither would the Q-Flash utility on F5.
I used Rufus on Windows to create a bootable USB drive with DOS selected under Boot selection.
You might also be able to select FreeDOS.
I then copied the Efiflash v0.98 for DOS over to the USB drive, along with the bios firmware.
I went from F5 to F6b version.
I then went from F6b to F6 using Q-Flash.
I chose to flash the main and backup bios, but it is probably a good idea to wait to do this until after you have a successful flashed and booted only one bios.
I then loaded default settings in bios menu.
